MOON LETTERS : POETRY
Namarie Endorenna - by Meldien Eruantale
Farewell I bid, I bid farewell,
To the land I love so well.
The time is come for me to part,
With this, the earth, dear to my heart.
Endorenna, cry not for me!
For though I sail far over sea,
Thy memory in me shall dwell.
To Endor fair I bid farewell!
To Lórien, farewell I say,
Thy golden splendour now does fade,
Departed has Altáriel,
The wise and fair Galadriel.
O Lórien! I weep for thee!
And as I sail far over sea,
I will remember, evermore,
Thy holy light, in Valinor.
Farewell I bid to Rivendell,
The home of fair Undómiel.
Much peace and rest I found in thee,
"Alas for Imladris!" cry we!
O Rivendell, fear not for me!
For when I sail far over sea,
Solace wilt thy memry bring,
And ever of thee will I sing!
Eryn Lasgalen, farewell!
Mirkwood, where men feared to dwell.
Great indeed again is thee,
Left has the shadow from thy trees!
Great Greenwood, look not for me.
For now I sail far over sea,
And never in thee will I dwell.
Namárië Mirkwood, farewell!
Farewell Endor, under sky.
Across the sea my path must lie,
Til mine eyes behold that shore,
Bathed in glory, evermore.
Middle-Earth, farewell to thee,
For now I sail across the sea,
I pass forever from thy shore,
To dwell in blessed Valinor!
