MOON LETTERS : POETRY
The Dreamsong of Master Samwise - By Vison

White-breasted gulls cry.
Wheeling, gliding gulls drift
Above the white-foamed waves.
Their voices calling,
The sea-longing calling,
The heart awakes.

Samwise, Elf-friend,
Borne upon the Western seas,
Going home, going home
To shores unknown.

Green hills once known lie
Dreamward. Now lifts
The heart in waking joy.
Dawn's clear light falling
Bright dawn light falling
Into the West.

Samwise, Elf-friend,
Borne upon the Western Seas,
Going home, going home
To friends once known.

Silver-sided craft rides,
Glides, silent, swift,
Beneath the soft skies.
Sweet rain falling,
Silver rain falling
Tears of joy.

Samwise, Elf-friend,
Borne upon the Western Seas,
Going home, sailing home
To Elvenhome…
