MOON LETTERS : POETRY
Samwise - by Brenda aka Lady_Samwise

I wonder if I shall ever see beauty again?
Feel the grass of The Shire between my toes
Warm from the sun?
Or smell fresh bread baking
On the breeze
As I work the earth between my fingers?
These rocks, the dark sky,
This filth
Seem more than I can bear;
But I do not bear the greatest sorrow.
All I would give and do
For my dearest friend,
Who bears the weight of the world,
And fights the torment of his soul.
So on I will go,
And this burden I must bear,
For love of home, and friends and freedom.
There I will find my courage.
I am Samwise the Brave.
